Amchur is also known as mango powder, is made from dried raw green mangoes. It has a delicious honey-like fragrance and a sour fruity flavour. It is used to add a fruity flavour without adding moisture, or as a souring agent to dry and curry dishes.
Organic amchur is made from organic mangoes gathered early in the season. These mangoes are harvested and then peeled, thinly sliced and sun-dried. These dried slices are light brown in color and resemble strips of woody bark. They are then ground into fine powder and sold as instant amchur' powder.
