Basmati translates to "Queen of fragrances" in Sanskrit - bas means "fragrance" and mati means "full of", which is quite appropriate, as this rice is known for its aromatic and perfumed scent.
Basmati rice has been grown for centuries in the foothills of Himalaya in the Indian subcontinent. It is a unique rice, which upon cooking has a delicious taste and distinct flavour and superior aroma.
In India, it is mostly grown in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, and western Uttar Pradesh. In 2014, India was the largest exporter of basmati rice.
World-wide, basmati is known to be the most popular variety of rice from India.

You may return most new, unopened items within 10 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
