Organic castor oil is made by compressing the seeds of the castor plant. Known as Ricinus communis, the plant is native to Africa and the Indian Subcontinent.

Castor oil has been used for centuries across many cultures for its medicinal and therapeutic benefits, serving as a common home remedy for problems related to hair, skin, joints and intestinal health. In olden days, midwives also gave castor oil to full term pregnant women to induce labour.
