Rosemary has been known for years as a brain booster and an inflammation fighter.
Rosemary is a small evergreen shrub related to the mint family. The herb looks like flat pine tree needles and is deep green colour on the top and silvery-white on the underside. It is originally from the Mediterranean region and now grows in the temperate regions of Europe and America.
Rosemary has been valued for a long time because it is known to stimulate and strengthen the memory. Students from ancient Greece would place rosemary sprigs in their hair when studying for an exam. Rosemary's ability to enhance the memory transformed it into a symbol of loyalty in old England.
Dried rosemary has concentrated flavours, and just a pinch of it is enough to flavour a dish. Rosemary with black pepper has become a trendy gourmet flavouring combination.
