Organic Makhana or Lotus Seeds are starchy seeds of a water plant, which is cultivated in the stagnant water of ponds, lakes and tanks. The state of Bihar is the largest producer of makhana in India, contributing to approximately 60% of the total production.
Organic Makhana is round and white in colour, which makes them resemble popcorns. They are a nutritious and non-cereal food. In India, makhana is eaten either roasted or fried.
