Honey, commonly known as “shahad” in Hindi, is one of the most established health foods, having served as the world’s primary sweetener before processed sugars became widely available in the 16th century.
Organic honey, which looks like sunshine in a jar, undergoes a complex and laborious process to convert it from flower nectar into a sweet, wholesome liquid. Bees visit more than two million flowers spread across a distance of 55,000 miles, to make around 500 grams of honey. This thick and sugary liquid is composed of water, glucose, fructose, goodness of harde plant and special enzymes produced by bees.
Honey is not only known for its taste but also for its healing health benefits.
Honey's colour, taste, aroma and texture vary greatly depending on the type of flower a bee frequents. For example, clover honey differs greatly from the honey harvested from bees that frequent a lavender field. In general, lighter coloured honey is mild in flavour, while darker honey is usually more robust in flavour.
