Jaggery is known as ?Gur? in India. It is a traditional, unrefined, non-centrifugal sugar consumed in Asian countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar.

Organic jaggery is a traditional Indian sweetener made from sugarcane juice and is believed to be a healthy substitute for refined sugar as it is a concentrated product of cane juice, wherein the molasses and crystals are not separated.

Traditionally, people consumed jaggery in the winter months to keep the body warm and ward off common cold and cough.

The colour of jaggery varies from golden brown to dark brown and it is used in both sweet and savory dishes across India. It has a high nutritional value and therefore can be eaten regularly for healthy living.
